DESCRIPTION
A crystal stud gives way to a green cabochon, then a fretted silver crescent scattered with stones, then a half-moon of deep green closing the shape. Pearls drip from the rim like rain off a canopy. The chandbali took its name from the moon it imitates, and this one keeps the old proportions while the oxidised finish keeps it earthbound. Wear it with your hair up and your neck bare. Worn by women who were never meant to blend in.
How to style it
A chandbali needs air. Wear it with a bare or wide neckline in ivory, deep green or black, and leave the neck completely empty. Hair must go up, a bun or a tight braid, or the pearl fringe disappears. This is a sangeet earring, a reception earring, a walk-in-last earring.
