DESCRIPTION
The same long engraved silver leaves, this time holding coral-red cabochons that glow against the darkened metal, with ghungroo bells clustered where the leaf splits open. Every surface is covered in hand-chased vine work, the way Afghan amulet silver was finished so no bare metal was left to tarnish. Red was worn on journeys, believed to turn away what should be turned away. Pair them with black and walk out. Worn by women who were never meant to blend in.
How to style it
Coral red wants black, ivory or indigo behind it, nothing patterned. A bare shoulder or a plain scoop gives the length somewhere to fall; leave the neck bare. Hair up, or swept to one side. Made for evenings out, concerts and long open-air dinners.
