DESCRIPTION
A fluted silver cone flares from the ear into a deep oxidised dome, and from that dome fall three tiers of pearls, close-set and heavy. The filigree across the cap is cut by hand, so the light passes through it unevenly and beautifully. Jhumkas of this scale were court pieces once, worn only when the occasion warranted the weight. Put your hair up and let them hang. Worn by women who were never meant to blend in.
How to style it
These are big and they should look it, so keep everything else plain. One solid colour, ivory, black or deep green, and no necklace at all. Hair fully up so the pearl tiers clear the shoulders. Reserve them for weddings, receptions and the evenings you dress properly for.
