DESCRIPTION
Where earth meets art, and tradition takes form — MaatiMaya is a crescent Dhokra pendant necklace.
MaatiMaya is a delicate yet rooted expression of tribal femininity and divine craft. Hand-sculpted in the Bastar region by Gond artisans, this crescent-shaped Dhokra pendant radiates warmth, culture, and timeless symbolism — from the woven lattice top to the symmetrical teardrop border that mirrors sacred tribal tattoos.
Crafted through the lost-wax casting method, the pendant is not just ornamentation but an imprint of ancestral hands and stories. The twin spiral discs on each side add rhythm and balance, while the soft pink handspun cotton threads symbolize grace, softness, and strength.
Tribe of Origin: Gond Tribe, Bastar (Chhattisgarh)
In Gond belief, jewelry is more than beauty — it protects, empowers, and connects the wearer to the elements of the earth. Dhokra, with its raw finish and symbolic forms, remains their artistic signature.
Style Tip: Wear MaatiMaya with flowing cotton dresses, Kalamkari kurtas, or tribal sarees. Perfect for earthy, boho, or ethnic moods.
