DESCRIPTION
A turquoise cabochon crowns this piece, ringed in red and yellow enamel, and below it an oxidised silver disc carries a green and red meenakari triangle. Three jhumkas hang from the base, each hemmed with warm brass bells, the whole reaching three and a half inches. Turquoise is the stone of the Kuchi caravans, carried across Afghan passes for luck and worn openly, never hidden. Wear them with your hair swept clear. You carry history, not trends.
How to style it
Turquoise and enamel are already doing a lot, so keep the outfit to one flat colour, ivory, terracotta or black. A high or closed neckline stops the fringe from tangling. Hair up and off the shoulders, always. Wear these to a festival, a day wedding or an outdoor evening where the bells can be heard.
