DESCRIPTION
A broad shield-shaped pendant carries a bold floral boss in deep repousse relief, finished with a row of small brass drops that sway when you move. The form belongs to Afghan and Kuchi tribal ornament, where a pendant was worn as protection as much as decoration and its weight was part of the point. Black beads and textured barrels run along the cord, and the matching earrings repeat the fluted bead above a black sphere. You carry history, not trends.
Style Note
Afghan weight and black beads were built for a saree, particularly in dusty pink, wine or charcoal. A V or sweetheart blouse lets the shield sit flat against the sternum. The drop earrings finish the frame, so wear them and skip the maang tikka. Right for pujas, weddings and the family dinners in between.
