DESCRIPTION
Hand-hammered brass spikes fan across the collarbone in graduated lengths, each one flattened and finished by hand so the light catches differently along the row. The brass is cast and worked in the Dhokra way, a lost-wax craft carried through the tribal belts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha for some four thousand years. Round beads anchor the fringe at either side, and the matching danglers repeat the motif in miniature. Worn by women who were never meant to blend in.
Style Note
Strapless and off-shoulder were made for this fan of Dhokra brass. Black is its sharpest partner, terracotta its warmest. Sweep hair up so the danglers move freely against the neck. Save it for the evening you intend to be photographed.
